McCain Global Leaders Program Adds Four New Members to its Advisory Council

WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 22, 2024) – The McCain Institute at Arizona State University (ASU) welcomes four new members to the McCain Global Leaders (MGL) Global Advisory Council. The council is comprised of 25 character-driven leaders in varying fields of expertise who play an integral role in shaping the design and implementation of the MGL program. The new council members are:

  • Kelvin Beachum, Arizona Cardinals Football Player, Advisory Board Member for NFL Players Inc., and Advisory Board Member for DonorsChoose
  • Seohyun LeeNorth Korean Defector, Human Rights Advocate, and Cybersecurity
  • Professional
  • Lida NooryMGL Alumna and State Department Advisor
  • Lauren Tilstra, Strategic Communications Advisor, Verizon.

“The Global Advisory Council is a vital component of the MGL program. The members bring diverse backgrounds and experiences from all over the world and provide invaluable mentorship and support to the young leaders selected for the program,” said McCain Institute Assistant Director for Global Leadership, Scott Nemeth. “Their partnership with the McCain Institute helps us deliver one of the most sought-after and impactful fellowship programs in the world, and we are grateful for their involvement. We welcome Kelvin, Seohyun, Lida, and Lauren to the MGL community.”

Members of the MGL Global Advisory Council include U.S. Army Intelligence Officer James McCain, preeminent American political strategist and commentator David Axelrod, Director of National Engagement at the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition Michelle Bekkering, Humanitarian and Founder of NBA Africa Dikembe Mutombo, and more.
