Afghanistan
Najeeb Nangyal is a writer and political activist known for countering violent extremism and advocating for reviving democracy in Afghanistan. He was a diplomat at the embassy Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Washington, D.C., until March 2022 and is now living in exile in the United States. He ended his diplomatic career due to the regime change in Afghanistan and the forceful takeover by the Taliban. Also, he has worked in the Afghanistan peace process and as a communications strategist at the Ministry of the Interior, Afghanistan. He has rich experience working with senior government officials, civil society, young leaders, and the media. Based on his work experience, activism, and academic background, he has developed an in-depth overview of Afghanistan's political and security landscape. He has participated in many national and international conferences and is a loud voice against violent extremism and advocating for reviving democracy in his home country. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of Peshawar and a master's in strategic studies from the National Defense University, Washington D.C.
