Hibo Abdi currently works as the Head of Programs at the Network Against FGC in Somaliland. Over the past decade, she has worked with various NGOs in Humanitarian and Development Sectors. She is an activist for the rights of women and girls in her community and has been active in the field of eradicating Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) throughout her career. Today, she works to eradicate FGM by working with policy and policymakers. While she has worked on various projects to support minority groups and violence against women, her greatest passion as an activist is to free women and girls from the practice of FGM, which has existed for generations among Somalis and still remains a prevalent practice. Hibo also possesses a bachelor's degree in development studies.
