Berivan Orucoglu is an award-winning journalist. She has worked for various media outlets in Turkey, Europe, and the U.S. covering major news stories of the last decade. She seeks to create an online news service designed to deliver objective information in the face of pressure by authoritarian regimes. Orucoglu plans to encourage her government to keep basic freedoms and human rights on the national agenda. During her time with Foreign Policy’s Democracy Lab, Berivan contributed important content and explored best practices for creating high impact online news.
