Alex Luong is focused on driving innovation at the intersection of technology and democracy. He currently leads the election integrity and political risk program at Meta as part of the company’s initiative to secure its paid surfaces across all platforms. Alex is passionate about how technology companies have and will continue to prepare for elections and other major civic events as well as opportunities for how operators and policy makers can better partner in service of protecting, stabilizing, and scaling democracies. He previously worked at Gerson Lehrman Group where he led a team providing quantitative and qualitative insights to hedge fund and private equity firms for their investment research. He has also spent time in startups and in venture capital prior to that. Earlier in his career, Alex served as an intern at the US District Court (Northern District of California), California State Assembly (then Speaker pro Tempore Fiona Ma), and Public Defenders Office (Merced County). Alex received his Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of California, Merced where he was a participant in the Clinton Foundation's CGI U. He currently resides in New York City.
