Former British Ambassador
Alexandra Hall Hall is a former British diplomat, and former Ambassador to Georgia, with other postings including Bangkok, Washington, Bogota and New Delhi, and attachments to the Pentagon and State Department. She resigned from the Foreign Office in 2019 because she felt she could no longer represent government policy on Brexit with integrity. Since then, she has become an active commentator on British politics, foreign policy and international affairs. She has a regular column for the British publication, Byline Times, entitled "An Englishwoman Abroad"; and is co-host of the "Disorder" Podcast. In addition, she is a member of the Commission on Political Power looking at reform of the British political system, and is a Trustee of the Eurasia Foundation, a non-profit organisation based in Washington DC which promotes civil society, good governance and capacity building in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. She spent two years as a non-Resident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council, and has also taught a human rights course at George Washington University.
