Director, Finance
Tracy Sikorski serves as the McCain Institute’s Director of Finance, where she is responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies, helping the organization meet its financial objectives, and providing financial management and oversight.
Prior to the McCain Institute, Tracy worked at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), serving in multiple financial and research administration roles.
Tracy is a higher education professional with more than 17 years of financial and research administration experience at the department and campus levels. Her roles required her to work with faculty in all phases of the research cycle, work with campus colleges to develop their annual budgets as well as closing out their prior year activities, and oversee the financial operations of a federally qualified healthcare center, in addition to managing the grant activities for the center.
Highlights of her time at UIC include building a shared service research center for the social sciences and humanities faculty in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, chairing the Academic Professionals Advisory Committee (APAC), securing a $7.5M FEMA COVID award for the campus, and while Director of Finance at MSHC, playing an instrumental role in bringing their delinquent, independent financial audit up to date.
Tracy earned her PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Illinois Chicago, where her research focused on the intersection of undergraduates’ participation in research and the skills they brought to the work force.
Tracy loves to travel to new and exciting locations, hang out with her kids, and read.
