John Raidt has over 35 years of government and public policy experience, including on national and homeland security, telecommunications, trade, commerce, energy, and the environment. He has served as a professional staff member of three national commissions including: the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (9/11 Commission); the Commission on the National Guard and Reserves; and the Independent Commission on the Security Forces of Iraq. In 2008, he served as deputy to General James L. Jones, USMC (Ret), Special Envoy for Middle East Regional Security. He is a former senior staff member to the U.S. Senate having served as Legislative Director for U.S. Senator John McCain and Staff Director of the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation. John works as an independent contractor with Jones Group International and as a consultant to the Special Competitive Studies Project (SCSP). He is a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council and author of two books, including Politics Inc.—America’s Troubled Democracy and How to Fix It, and of numerous publications on national affairs. He holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Harvard Kennedy School.
