SEDONA, Ariz. (April 25, 2025) — The McCain Institute at Arizona State University (ASU) today announced the 2025 Sedona Forum will take place May 2-3 in Sedona, Arizona, with The Washington Post serving as its exclusive media partner. This year’s forum, centered around the theme “Wielding America’s Preeminent Power,” brings together a bipartisan group of global leaders, policymakers, and experts to explore how the United States can leverage its economic strength, technological edge, military might, and cultural influence to lead with purpose in a rapidly changing world.
Key speakers include U.S. Senators Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.), Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), James Lankford (R-Okla.), Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.), and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), U.S. Representatives Jason Crow (D-Colo.-06), Craig Goldman (R-Texas-12), and Seth Moulton (D-Mass.-06), Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, former U.S. Senator Kyrsten Sinema, former Russian political prisoner Vladimir Kara-Murza, and more. Moderators from The Washington Post will include Josh Rogin, Washington Post Intelligence lead global security analyst, and Ishaan Tharoor, foreign affairs columnist.
“Senator McCain believed Sedona had a unique way of cutting through the noise and bringing people together across the aisle to thoughtfully tackle big, global challenges,” said McCain Institute Executive Director Dr. Evelyn Farkas. “That’s the spirit we’re proud to carry forward at the 12th Sedona Forum. With The Washington Post as our media partner, and top-notch journalists leading the conversations, we’re setting the stage for bold ideas, and the kind of collaboration we need to keep America strong on the global stage.”
Established by Senator John McCain, the Sedona Forum is the McCain Institute’s premier annual gathering of global leaders, policymakers, and bold thinkers tackling the world’s most urgent challenges. With a strong emphasis on bipartisanship, the forum aims to foster collaboration among leaders from both sides of the aisle, seeking solutions that transcend political divides to secure America’s leadership and influence in an increasingly complex and interconnected world.
A full list of speakers and programming details will be released prior to the event. To learn more and register for the livestream, visit TheSedonaForum.org.
