McCain Global Leaders, Junior Fellow
Caroline Brinkman is a fourth year student at the University of Virginia where she is completing her B.A. in Global Security and Justice, and a second B.A. in Foreign Affairs. Her academic focus is in international security, studying the effect of military force in international relations and democracy, great power competition, and counterterrorism.
Prior to working at the McCain Institute, Caroline worked in counterintelligence and industrial security for the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency, where she supported efforts to improve the security of classified technology within cleared industry. Her summer project focused on evaluating and resolving inconsistencies across the agency to reduce security gaps. In addition, she has worked extensively in local politics, leading voter registration drives and civic education campaigns to make information about voting procedures and mail-in voting more readily accessible.
In her free time, Caroline loves traveling and learning about new cultures, hiking, and volunteering with the local animal shelter.
