In September 2024, Dr. Karen Donfried was appointed as Director of the Congressional Research Service (CRS), which provides objective, nonpartisan, and authoritative research and analysis to Congress. For the preceding year, Donfried was a Senior Fellow at the Belfer Center at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, where she maintains a non-resident affiliation.
