Head of Monitoring and Evaluation, Defence, Science & Technology, Ministry of Defence
United Kingdom
Kiren joined the UK Government over ten years ago after completing her PhD in social developmental psychology from the
University of Surrey. Her early career in counter-terrorism policy allowed her to develop subject matter expertise on radicalization
and prevention, with evidence and research at the heart of decision making. She has led research and evaluation activity across national security and defense policy areas, including strategic communications and science & technology, and applied data-driven approaches to hard-to-measure areas such as crisis response. She is currently based at the Ministry of Defence, leading on evaluation activity which moves away from individual outputs and towards outcomes and impacts in complex systems.
