WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 11, 2024) – McCain Institute Executive Director Dr. Evelyn Farkas today issued the following statement commemorating the 53rd Veterans Day:
“Today, the McCain Institute honors military veterans and their families whose bravery, dedication, and sacrifices have contributed to the United States’ lasting freedom and democracy.
“Senator McCain served in the United States Navy, and later advocated on behalf of the military community as a congressman, senator, and presidential candidate.
“Like his father, grandfather, sons, and many other McCains who served in the armed forces, Senator McCain cherished freedom, democracy, human rights, and believed in service to a cause greater than oneself. His values carry on through the work of the McCain Institute today.”
