WASHINGTON, D.C. – The McCain Institute at Arizona State University applauds the announcement that Senator John McCain will be posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Joseph R. Biden, Jr.
“My family and I are extremely honored that my dad will posthumously be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. As a man who dedicated his life in service of his country, I know my dad would be very humbled to receive the nation’s highest civilian honor,” said McCain Institute Board of Trustees Member Jack McCain.
“The McCain Institute is proud to bear the name of Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient Senator John McCain. While Senator McCain’s contributions to the United States as a naval aviator, lawmaker, statesman and civilian are unparalleled, he did not live his life in search of awards or accolades. As a man of lifelong service, Senator McCain’s persistent and principled pursuit of his ideals and his legacy of integrity-driven leadership remain an inspiration to people all over the world.
