Democracy, Human Rights, Character-Driven Leadership Celebrated at 2024 Sedona Forum

U.S. Secretaries Blinken and Yellen, Lawmakers, and Policy Experts Emphasize America’s Leadership Role in the World

SEDONA, Arizona (May 5, 2024) – The McCain Institute at Arizona State University (ASU) today concluded the 2024 Sedona Forum, which celebrated the legacy of Senator John McCain and emphasized America’s important leadership role in the world and the essential values of character and integrity. The theme of the 2024 Sedona Forum, “Securing our Insecure World,” catalyzed conversations on democracy, curbing international influences from Russia and China, AI, and the 2024 elections.

The McCain Institute hosted U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen, and more than 40 lawmakers, policy experts, and other speakers. Journalists from NBC News, The Washington Post, and the Associated Press moderated thought-provoking panels, and NBC News Meet the Press Moderator Kristen Welker conducted interviews from the Sedona Forum with Arizona newsmakers.

“It was an honor to host Secretaries Blinken and Yellen, and all of our impressive speakers at the Sedona Forum,” said McCain Institute Executive Director Dr. Evelyn Farkas. “From foreign policy discussions on Ukraine, China, and the Middle East, to conversations on leadership, democracy, and human rights, this weekend’s wide range of panels demonstrate exactly why we need the Sedona Forum – to unite character-driven leaders from across the political spectrum as a force for good.”

Photos and recordings of the panels will be available to watch HERE. To learn more about the event, visit TheSedonaForum.org.
